We focus 100% on the installation. We don't repair units put in by others, because we save our time and expertise for our own customers. When we install your LG, we handle all the ongoing servicing and repairs for the life of that unit.
LG is one of the world's largest electronics manufacturers. Their heat pumps carry technology developed across their broader product range. Here is what actually matters for a North Shore home.
LG backs their Dual Inverter Compressor with a 10-year warranty. The compressor is the most expensive single component in a heat pump. If it fails after year five, most brands leave you to pay for it. LG covers it to year ten. That is a meaningful difference.
The ARTCOOL Gallery has a customisable front panel. You can slide in your own image so the unit blends into the room rather than sitting on the wall like a white box. It is the only heat pump brand that offers this. If the look of the unit matters, there is nothing else like it.
LG's Dual Inverter Compressor runs at a wider range of speeds than a standard inverter, so it wastes less energy adjusting output. Independent TUV testing shows up to 70% energy saving over non-inverter models. You get 3 to 5 units of heat for every 1 unit of electricity paid for.
Most heat pumps accumulate bacteria and mould on the internal coil over time. LG's Freeze Cleaning function deliberately forms ice on the coil then lets it thaw, flushing out pollutants as the water drains. It runs automatically when you turn the unit off. No filter cleaning required by hand.
Every current LG heat pump has built-in wifi and the ThinQ app as standard. It integrates with Google Home and Alexa without any extra hardware. Set schedules, control it from anywhere, or ask your Google Home to turn the heat on before you arrive home.
LG's Dual Inverter Compressor is tested across their entire appliance range, not just heat pumps. The scale of that testing programme and the 10-year warranty they put behind it says more about their confidence in the component than any spec sheet will.
LG make several distinct series and the differences are real. Here is what each one does and who it suits.
Every install is different, but these are typical ranges for supply and installation on the North Shore in 2026. Your free quote will give you a fixed price for your specific home.
Standard R32 or Standard Plus, supply and install. This covers a back-to-back install where the outdoor unit sits directly behind the indoor one. Longer pipe runs are priced at quote time. No surprises.
One outdoor unit, multiple indoor heads. Price varies by number of rooms and pipe run length. We price each job individually at quote time.
Fully hidden in ceiling or floor. Price depends on home size, number of zones and access for ducting. Most popular for new builds and full renovations.
For a full breakdown see our heat pump installation cost guide. The Warmer Kiwi Homes subsidy can reduce the high-wall cost significantly if you qualify.
We check room size, ceiling height and insulation. On the North Shore we also check boundary noise rules and salt air exposure to make sure the outdoor unit goes in the right spot and is protected correctly.
Craig holds an EPA Refrigerant Handling Licence. No shortcuts on the refrigerant side. A registered electrician handles all wiring. We don't leave until we've set up the ThinQ app on your phone and walked you through it. Every install is backed by a 12-month workmanship guarantee on top of the 5-year LG warranty and 10-year compressor warranty.
Most installers disappear once the job is done. We don't. We handle every service and repair for our own customers. Whether it's the annual service to keep your warranty valid or a repair years down the line, you call us directly. We only look after the units we installed.
The Warmer Kiwi Homes grant covers up to 90% of the cost, capped at $3,450. Most eligible homeowners pay just $400 to $700 out of pocket. Craig is a registered provider and handles all the paperwork. Takes 2 minutes to check your eligibility.
Which LG model is right for my room?
For most single rooms the Standard R32 or Standard Plus is the answer. If the look of the unit matters and you want to personalise the front panel, step up to the ARTCOOL Gallery. The performance and compressor are the same across all three. We assess the room first and tell you exactly which model fits before you commit to anything.
What is Freeze Cleaning and do I need it?
Freeze Cleaning is LG's auto-cleaning function. When you turn the unit off, it deliberately forms ice on the internal coil then lets it thaw, flushing out bacteria and mould as the water drains. It runs automatically so you never have to think about it. It is available on the Standard Plus and ARTCOOL Gallery models.
How long does the install take?
A standard high-wall LG install takes a few hours. Multi-room systems usually take a full day. Ducted systems take one to two days depending on the size of the home. We confirm the timeframe when we come out for the quote.
What warranty does an LG come with?
LG offers a 5-year parts and labour warranty on residential heat pumps in NZ, plus a separate 10-year warranty on the compressor itself. The compressor is the most expensive component in the unit, so that extra cover matters. Our installation work is also covered by a 12-month workmanship guarantee.
Can I get an LG on the Warmer Kiwi Homes subsidy?
Yes, many LG models qualify. The subsidy covers up to 90% of the installed cost, capped at $3,450, for eligible homeowners. Most people who qualify pay $400 to $700 out of pocket. Craig is a registered WKH provider and can check your eligibility when you get in touch.
Who handles servicing and repairs after the install?
Craig handles all servicing and repairs on every unit he installs. Annual service to keep the warranty valid, anything that comes up: you call us. We don't work on heat pumps we didn't install.
Do you install LG across the whole North Shore?
Yes. Takapuna, Devonport, Milford, Birkenhead, Glenfield, Albany, Silverdale, the East Coast Bays and the Hibiscus Coast. If you are not sure whether we reach your street, call us and we will tell you in 30 seconds.
