We focus 100% on the installation. We don't repair units put in by others, because we save our time and expertise for our own customers. When we install your Haier, we handle all the ongoing servicing and repairs for the life of that unit.
Haier is the world's largest appliance maker, but in New Zealand they have a secret weapon: they are owned and backed by Fisher & Paykel. That means local parts, local technicians, and 24/7 support. You are not buying a grey import. You are buying a brand with deep roots in NZ.
Haier operates through Fisher & Paykel in New Zealand. Dedicated service technicians on the ground, parts in local warehouses, 24/7 customer care you can actually reach. If something goes wrong in year four, you are not waiting weeks for a circuit board from overseas. For Kiwis, the F&P name carries weight.
Haier is the most affordable brand we install. Because of that, we can often get you a more powerful unit for the same price as a smaller premium brand, so your room actually stays warm through a North Shore winter. It is the obvious choice for rentals, second bedrooms and anyone on a budget who still wants modern features.
LED UV lights inside the unit zap airborne bacteria and viruses as the air passes through. Independent testing found 91.47% elimination of H3N2 virus and 82.78% of Staphylococcus aureus in two hours. If you have kids in daycare or anyone with a compromised immune system at home, this is a genuine health benefit no other brand we install offers as standard.
Every time you turn the unit off, it freezes the internal coil and then lets it thaw, flushing away dust and mould. The coil stays clean between services. That musty smell some older heat pumps develop? It comes from dirty coils. Haier prevents it automatically every single time.
Set schedules, turn the heat on from the motorway so the house is warm when you arrive, or check energy use. Works with Google Home and Alexa. Haier is the world's number one brand for wifi and Bluetooth connected air conditioners by volume. Everything built in, nothing extra to buy.
Coanda Plus angles the airflow so it travels further along the ceiling and drops into the room more evenly. In a larger lounge you feel the heat at the far end rather than it pooling near the unit. You get 3 to 5 units of heat for every 1 unit of electricity used.
Haier covers every install type from a single bedroom to a whole home. Here is what each one does and who it suits.
Haier is the most competitively priced brand we install. These are typical ranges for supply and installation on the North Shore in 2026. Your free quote will give you a fixed price for your specific home.
Quartz, Pinnacle or Flexis, supply and install. This covers a back-to-back install where the outdoor unit sits directly behind the indoor one. Longer pipe runs are priced at quote time. No surprises.
One outdoor unit, multiple indoor heads. Price varies by number of rooms and pipe run length. We price each job individually at quote time.
Fully hidden in ceiling or floor. Price depends on home size, number of zones and access for ducting. Haier is one of the more affordable ducted options we install.
For a full breakdown see our heat pump installation cost guide. The Warmer Kiwi Homes subsidy can reduce the high-wall cost significantly if you qualify.
We check your insulation and where the sun hits your rooms. Because Haier is so affordable, we can often get you a more powerful unit for the same price as a smaller premium brand, so your room actually stays warm through a North Shore winter. We also check boundary noise rules and salt air exposure before placing the outdoor unit.
Craig holds an EPA Refrigerant Handling Licence. No shortcuts on the refrigerant side. Every install is signed off by a registered electrician with a Certificate of Compliance. We check boundary noise rules and position the outdoor unit correctly for your section. We don't leave until the SmartHQ app is on your phone and you know how to use it.
We look after our own. If we installed your Haier, you are our priority for servicing and warranty work. You don't have to navigate a corporate call centre. You just call us. We don't work on units installed by other companies.
The Warmer Kiwi Homes grant covers up to 90% of the cost, capped at $3,450. Most eligible homeowners pay just $400 to $700 out of pocket. Craig is a registered provider and handles all the paperwork. Takes 2 minutes to check your eligibility.
Is Haier a good brand for a NZ home?
Yes. Haier is the world's largest home appliance manufacturer, number one globally for 16 years. In New Zealand they operate through Fisher & Paykel, which means local service technicians, parts in NZ warehouses, and genuine after-sales support. They are not a premium Japanese brand, but for value, reliability and modern features at a lower price point, they are a solid choice. We install them with confidence.
Which Haier model is right for my room?
For most rooms the Flexis is the answer. It has UV Protect, Self-Clean and SmartHQ wifi at a good price. If budget is the main driver the Quartz or Pinnacle gets the job done at a lower cost. For older homes where wall mounting is difficult the Floor Console is worth considering. We assess the room first and tell you exactly which model fits before you commit.
What is UV Protect and is it actually useful?
UV Protect is a set of LED UV lights built into the indoor unit. When running in Health mode they kill airborne viruses and bacteria. Independent testing found 91.47% elimination of H3N2 virus in two hours. It is the only brand we install that has UV air treatment built in as standard. If anyone in the house has a compromised immune system or you just want cleaner air, it is a meaningful feature.
How long does the install take?
A standard high-wall Haier install takes a few hours. Multi-room systems usually take a full day. Ducted systems take one to two days depending on the size of the home. We confirm the timeframe when we come out for the quote.
What warranty does a Haier come with?
Haier offers a 5-year comprehensive parts and labour warranty on residential heat pumps in NZ. If the unit develops a fault in that time the repair does not come back to you. Our installation work is also covered by a 12-month workmanship guarantee on top of that.
Can I get a Haier on the Warmer Kiwi Homes subsidy?
Yes, many Haier models qualify. The subsidy covers up to 90% of the installed cost, capped at $3,450, for eligible homeowners. Most people who qualify pay $400 to $700 out of pocket. Craig is a registered WKH provider and can check your eligibility when you get in touch.
Can the Haier Floor Console be installed in an older NZ home?
Yes, that is exactly what it is designed for. The Haier Floor Console can be installed three ways: standard floor-standing, with a skirting board mount so it sits flush against the wall, or fully recessed into the wall. For older villas and bungalows where drilling at height through plaster or brick is difficult, it is often the best option. No high-wall penetration required.
Who handles servicing and repairs after the install?
Craig handles all servicing and repairs on every unit he installs. Annual service to keep the warranty valid, anything that comes up: you call us. We don't work on heat pumps we didn't install.
